In March the Town Council held a long discussion about dogs being off their leads in Diamond Park. Several residents had reported incidents where children and vulnerable adults were being bounded up to by dogs running free. Members took these concerns seriously. It was decided that signs would be put up asking dog owners to keep their dogs on leads. It was not an easy decision and it was debated at length.
The aim is to keep the park a safe and welcoming space for everyone who uses it. We are simply asking dog owners to keep their dogs on leads while in Diamond Park. This helps protect all visitors and avoids any distress or accidental incidents.
We appreciate the support of responsible dog owners and thank everyone for helping us look after this community space.
